PlantWatch questions, answered.
Direct answers on pricing, privacy, AI features, and what stays free.
Is PlantWatch really free?expand_more
Yes. Plant tracking, journaling, reminders, care guides, and core collection tools are free forever. During beta, AI plant identification and AI health checks are unlocked while we learn where Pro should add the most value.
What will PlantWatch Pro cost?expand_more
Launch pricing is $6.99 per month, $29.99 per year, or $79.99 lifetime. Waitlist members get first access and a launch discount.
How does plant identification work?expand_more
Snap a photo of a leaf or the whole plant. We send it to PlantNet's species model and return the most likely matches with confidence scores.
What does the AI health check do?expand_more
Upload a photo and Claude analyzes it for pests, fungal disease, nutrient deficiency, and environmental stress. You get a health score and concrete treatment steps.
Are my photos and plant data private?expand_more
Yes. Photos are stored in a private Supabase bucket, scoped to your account by row-level security. Your plant collection is not public.
Is this a web app or a mobile app?expand_more
PlantWatch runs in the browser today, including on mobile. Native iOS and Android apps are in development and will share the same backend, so your data carries over.
How is this different from Planta, Greg, or PictureThis?expand_more
PlantWatch is built around transparent pricing and useful free basics. Competitors often push trials or annual subscriptions before users understand what is actually free; PlantWatch keeps the basic care workflow free and makes Pro optional.
What happens to my data if I delete my account?expand_more
Plants, photos, and timeline events are deleted from our database and storage. Backups roll off within 30 days.
